Jurassic World – 3 Things to get Excited About

What comes to mind when you think of dinosaurs in the movies? A majority will answer Jurassic Park. Steven Spielberg’s 1993 adaptation of Michael Crichton’s thriller novel is considered a feat of visual achievement. The movie centers around a theme park with real dinosaurs. Followed by two sequels, the Jurassic Park trilogy has grossed a total of $767,326,501 from theaters and ranks the 22nd highest grossing movie franchise of all time. Only four months awaits until the fourth installment in the franchise, Jurassic World. The fourth installment promises to give an experience like the original.

What to be excited about?

1. Bigger, Badder Dinosaurs

From the trailer alone, familiar creatures such as the velociraptors, stegosaurus and triceratops are all there. The massive Mosasaurs feasts on a shark, the Tyrannosaurus Rex is now an attraction and the Indominus Rex appears to be too much for the owners of the park to handle. Expect to have your breath taken away by these massive monsters!

2. A New, Technologically Advanced Jurassic Park

The original film took place on an island and in Jurassic Park. The theme park was still in beta stage and some attractions and rides, but the park itself felt unfinished. In the new Jurassic World, the theme park is already open and filled with thousands and thousands of eager guests. The park itself energizes and excites all as pterodactyls fly over a shopping district, herbivores surround tourists kayaking through a lake, and clear electronic bubbles that move on their own replace the jeeps that drove the guests through dinosaur wildlife. Expect to be in awe of the innovative technological advancements!

3.Chris Pratt as a Raptor Trainer

From his early acting days as lovably stupid Andy Dwyer on NBC’s Parks and Rec. to his breakout role in Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, many have watched Chris Pratt evolve into a true movie star. Last year, he starred as Starlord in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy and voiced the character Emmet in Phil Lord’s The Lego Movie. Both were two big hits for Pratt. His first role in 2015 will be in Jurassic World where he will play Own Grady, a man who works with and trains velociraptors. Chris Pratt has developed the it factor as a movie star – he captures the attention of the audience when he is on the screen and he has a job of training vicious velociraptors, you can bet he will be as captivating as ever.
