Sean Six, a guitarist who has pursued the art since age nine, delighted a packed house last Wednesday evening at the Blue Lion Downtown. He has roots in Fort Smith and an audience of friends and fans welcomed him. The Blue Lion provided an intimate atmosphere, perfect for Six’s gentle acoustic sound. With his humble and happy demeanor, Sean stepped on the stage to hear a roar of thunderous claps from his anxious audience. Six performed pieces of different composers from the 1500s to the 1800s.
Six’s style was simple, nothing else was needed. He effortlessly played complex arrangements. With only an acoustic guitar, he captivated an auditorium of people. One moment the music soothed the soul to sleep, but in the next moment it excited the soul to dance.
The arrangements flowed along until ,all too soon, the performance was over. Six started to amble off stage, but his fans deliberately called him back for an encore. He humored his audience with a bit of improvisation, then the audience rose to their feet to show their appreciation. A standing ovation abated the night and the audience headed into the lobby. One concert goer said, "I was awed by the performance and I would urge anyone who has the chance to see Sean Six live."
